Former federal prosecutor of Montclair, New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill threatens to take over a long reign: Rodney Frelinghuysen’s place on the grand ol’ Republican throne.
Sherrill, a prosecuting, plane-flying, lacross-coaching, super mother-of-four has declared Frelinghuysen as her next opponent- and I’d be pretty damn shook if I were him.
“I have spent most of my life fighting for our country and our values. As a mother, you’d better believe I will continue to fight to ensure our children have a bright future,” Sherill started in a badass statement, declaring her run for Congress on Thursday.
“Donald Trump is now threatening everything we hold dear. His impulsive behavior threatens our national security.
The way he talks about women threatens not only the progress we have made during my lifetime, but the opportunities I want to ensure for my daughters. And the way he uses fear to divide our country threatens the fabric of who we are as Americans.”
Sherrill continued, “Our congressman, Rodney Frelinghuysen, is voting straight down the line with Donald Trump.”
Showing no chill, she affirmed plainly, “I’m running for Congress because we can do better,” no doubt referring to Frelinghuysen’s vote to supersede Obamacare’s Affordable Care Act, which passed House on May 4th.
“Sherrill faces a tough political opponent in Frelinghuysen, the Chairman of House Committee on Appropriations, who has run without a serious threat to his post for decades,” reports The Patch, noting Frelinghuysen’s long-established seat in Congress.
She is registered for the 2018 elections with the Federal Election Commission, announced the FEC’s website.
She has also taken to Twitter to build her political following.
Frelinghuysen just used his powerful public office to hurt a private citizen – it's wrong, unethical, and immoral. https://t.co/pDbdqwpAZx

“We need someone who will listen and fight back. I’m excited to travel this district, reach into our communities and tackle the serious problems our country faces,” an excited Sherrill concluded during her candidacy speech.”
Sherrill would be representing New Jersey’s 11th congressional district, which includes factions of Morris, Essex, Sussex and Passiac counties.
