I Am Amazing: 5 Activities That Help Improve Your Self-Esteem

Confidence is a word we hear all the time, but do we truly understand the meaning behind it? What is Confidence? How do you gain Confidence?

The official definition of confidence is the “Belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities.” Confidence is our strength, which allows us to be the best that we can be, and our control of everything we do.

Confidence determines whether we rock that unflattering-but-still-cute outfit, or if we have the guts to actually start a business.

Do you want to be in control of your destiny, or would you rather have it decided for you?

Since confidence propels us to take action, working on building your confidence and self-esteem up to the point of no limitations is a must.

Here are a few activities which help increase self-esteem and confidence.

Appreciation Break

If you don’t take the time to acknowledge the great things you have done but fill your mind with what you haven’t done, you will never reach your fullest potential.

“Appreciation Breaks” are simple: take about two to three minutes out of your day to give yourself a deserving pat on the back.

The more focus you put on the positive, the less of a chance the negative can squeeze in and ruin your day! #IRockedToday

An Outfit Actually Does Make A Difference

Every outfit you put on is a representation of you! The garments you wear describe who you are as an individual and demonstrate self expression.

Wearing clothes which emanate an “unhappy and miserable” vibe will only continue to bring down your confidence.

Starting today, wear clothes that not only make you happy but scream, “I’m awesome and I look amazing!”

Create A Vision Board

A vision board is a collage of photos which depict any story you want to tell. Make a vision board which tells the story of who you are and who you’re striving to be.

Head to your local Staples and purchase a poster board, scissors, and tape. Select photos which represent your goals, aspirations, and abilities.

If you don’t have a bunch of magazines, go buy a few or print a couple pictures from the internet. Now, go explore who you are and create your story!

Social Media Is Not Your Best Friend

How many times have you seen a model on Instagram and thought to yourself, “I want to look like her?”

How many times have you seen people take lavish trips and you feel a surge of jealousy?

This is the toxic aspect of social media which people often dismiss. It creates jealousy and envious emotion, which ultimately kills your confidence.

So delete the Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook app for a week. Yes, a week! It’s time to turn off the green light for social media.

Instead focus on your personal growth and productive activities.

Spend time with your family, focus on your job, anything which will prevent you from returning to that like button.

Make Sticky Notes

What is the first thing you do in the morning? Do you look in the mirror? If so it’s time, to leave inspirational sticky notes.

Be your own motivational speaker! Be your own coach! Place sticky notes that reflect who you want to be or how you want to feel all around your home!

Put sticky notes on your mirror, refrigerator, bathroom door and even all around your bedroom. The sticky notes are here to remind you of happiness and-self love.

Now begins the baby steps towards a better you! Complete these activities daily and you will help you feel like a better you in no time.

Remember, change starts within yourself!
